Unai Emery says Aaron Ramsey will return to action in two to three weeks after he suffered an injury during Arsenal’s 1-0 win over Napoli last week.

The Wales international went off injured during the return leg of the Europa League quarter-final clash on Thursday night and his setback has prompted fears that he may have made his final appearance for the Gunners.

Ramsey is due to sign for Juventus on a free transfer at the end of the season after having penned a pre-contract agreement with the Serie A side.

However, Arsenal boss Emery has now revealed that he is hopeful that the 28-year-old midfielder will be able to return to action sooner rather than later after his latest injury setback.

Speaking in an interview with Sky Sports, Emery said: “His progress this season is amazing.

“At the beginning (of the season), he was a little confused maybe, because he is in the last year of his contract.

“For us, and for me, he is a very important player but his confusion maybe did not help us at some moments in the season – not like his performances now.

“In his last few performances he has been helping us a lot – and in some of the key moments of this season. His injury is bad news and I don’t know how long he will be out of the team, maybe two or three weeks.”

Arsenal are looking to claim the three points against Palace as they bid to try and secure their place in the top four.

The north London side headed into this weekend’s round of fixtures in fourth place in the table as they bid to try and secure their place in the Champions League for the first time in two seasons.
