Gary Lineker has taken to social media to reveal his delight at seeing both Callum Hudson-Odoi and Phil Foden make their first Premier League starts on Wednesday night.

Hudson-Odoi was handed his first top-flight start by Chelsea FC boss Maurizio Sarri as the Blues claimed a 3-0 win over Brighton and Hove Albion at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League.

The 18-year-old notched up an assist for Olivier Giroud’s opening goal as the Blues claimed a comfortable win in front of their home fans.

Meanwhile, Foden, 18, was also handed his first Premier League start for Manchester City as Pep Guardiola’s side claimed a 2-0 win over Cardiff City to move back to the top of the Premier League table.

England legend Lineker was clearly delighted to see both players get their chances – and he is tipping them to shine for England in the years to come.

After Wednesday night’s games, Lineker wrote on Twitter: “Good to see both @Calteck10 and @PhilFoden start a Premier League for the first time on the same night.

“I fancy they’ll start a lot of games together… in a white shirt. 👍🏻.”

Hudson-Odoi will be hoping to start for Chelsea FC once again when the Blues return to Premier League action on Monday night with a home clash against bitter local rivals West Ham United.

The Blues are currently fifth in the Premier League table as they chase a top-four finish.
