Jamie Redknapp sends advice to Callum Hudson-Odoi about Chelsea FC future
Daily Mail pundit Jamie Redknapp tells Callum Hudson-Odoi to be patient at Chelsea FC
Jamie Redknapp has urged Callum Hudson-Odoi to remain patient at Chelsea FC.
The 18-year-old impressed during the international break with an assist for Ross Barking in England’s 5-1 victory over Montenegro in their Euro 2020 qualifier.
Hudson-Odoi completed 90 minutes of his England debut to earn rave reviews, despite not having started a Premier League game in his fledgling Chelsea FC career so far.
The England international has made six substitute appearances in the Premier League but Maurizio Sarri has made the sensation wait for his full debut.
The Blues teenager has scored five goals and has made three assists in 10 games in the Europa League and the FA Cup this term.
However, the Blues managed to retain the services of the teenager, whose current Chelsea FC deal will expire at the end of the 2019-20 season.
Former Liverpool FC midfielder Redknapp believes Hudson-Odoi needs to knuckle down and concentrate on building his career at Chelsea FC rather than be distracted by transfer speculation.
“There is no doubting his ability but he still has to be patient,” Redknapp told the Daily Mail.
“He is only 18 and has plenty to learn. Game-time is crucial but continue to impress and that will come.”
Chelsea FC will take on Slavia Prague in the Europa League quarter-finals later this month, with a place in the Champions League up for grabs for the competition’s winner.
