Chelsea FC could be a potential destination for Philippe Coutinho in the summer if the Blues’ transfer ban is lifted, according to a report in Spain.

Spanish media outlet Sport is reporting that the Brazil international could be a potential recruit for the west London side at the end of the season.

The same article states that any deal would be dependent on Chelsea FC’s current transfer ban being lifted.

According to the same story, the Blues view Coutinho as an ideal replacement for Eden Hazard should the Belgium international move to Real Madrid this summer.

Sport go on to add that Chelsea FC could face competition from Paris Saint-Germain given that Neymar is keen for the Ligue 1 side to sign Coutinho.

Manchester United won’t rival Chelsea FC for the signing of Coutinho given his past links with the club’s bitter rivals Liverpool FC, according to the Spanish media outlet.

Coutinho moved to FC Barcelona in a £142m deal from Liverpool FC in the 2018 January transfer window after months of speculation linking the playmaker with a move to the Catalan side.

However, the Brazilian star has failed to reproduce his impressive Liverpool FC displays in a FC Barcelona shirt so far.

Chelsea FC lost 2-0 to Coutinho’s former club at Anfield on Sunday.
