Michael Owen reveals his prediction for Chelsea FC v Burnley
Michael Owen looks ahead to Chelsea FC's home clash with Burnley in the Premier League on Monday night
Michael Owen is backing Chelsea FC to claim a straightforward win over Burnley in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge on Monday night.
The Blues head into the game fresh from having secured their place in the Europa League semi-finals thanks to their 4-3 win over Slavia Prague at Stamford Bridge on Thursday night.
Chelsea FC currently find themselves in fifth place in the Premier League table as they bid to try and break back into the top four before the season is out.
Maurizio Sarri’s men are level on points with Arsenal but have played a game more than the Gunners as they eye Champions League qualification for next season.
The Blues will be eager to bounce back to winning ways after their disappointing 2-0 loss to Liverpool FC at Anfield last weekend.
And former Liverpool FC striker Owen does not see the Blues having any problems when they host Burnley in front of their home fans on Easter Monday.
Writing in his column for BetVictor, Owen said: “Chelsea have lost just one of their last 20 home league games, but the Clarets have won their last three and I feel they will give the Blues plenty to think about at Stamford Bridge on Monday.
“Chelsea were in Europa League action on Thursday and they have two strings to their Champions League bow.
“Burnley won the corresponding fixture last season, but I expect to see an Eden Hazard inspired Chelsea keep the points.”
Chelsea FC will take on Frankfurt in the Europa League semi-finals as they look to try and reach the final this season, knowing that winning the competition offers a route into the Champions League.
