Paul Merson is tipping Leicester City to ease to a narrow 2-1 victory over Arsenal at the King Power Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The Gunners are embroiled in a tough battle to secure a place in the Premier League’s top four after Arsenal’s loss of form at a crucial time of the season.

Arsenal lost 3-2 to Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park last weekend to drop vital points at home in the race to secure one of the final two Champions League spots.

Unai Emery’s side were unable to bounce back from their second loss of the season at home after Arsenal succumbed to a 3-1 loss to Wolves at Molineux on Wednesday night.

The Gunners will hit the road again on Sunday to take on Brendan Rodgers’ Leicester side, who are in tenth place and have failed to win their last two Premier League games.

Former Arsenal midfielder Merson is tipping Leicester to secure a 2-1 victory over the Gunners at the King Power Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

“I’ve got to go for Leicester though,” Merson told Sky Sports.

“[Jamie] Vardy will be too much for the Arsenal defence, they’ve got pace. Look at Leicester since Brendan has gone there, they find it hard to break teams down. But when teams like Arsenal come in who are going to have a go, they’re a dangerous animal. Very dangerous.

“Arsenal have half an eye on next Thursday as well which doesn’t help.”

Leicester striker Jamie Vardy has scored six goals in his last seven league games against Arsenal.

Arsenal have only managed to keep two clean sheets in their last 26 Premier League games on the road.

The Gunners haven’t won the Premier League title since 2004.
