Mark Lawrenson is tipping Arsenal to drop points in a 1-1 draw with Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Arsenal will start the Premier League fixture in fifth place in the table and a point behind Chelsea FC, who occupy the final Champions League spot.

The Gunners have the chance to beat Leicester and heap pressure on Chelsea FC ahead of their trip to Manchester United on Sunday evening.

However, Unai Emery’s side have a poor record on the road in the Premier League this term, having won just six of their 17 fixtures so far.

To make matters worse for concerned Arsenal supporters, the Gunners have lost their last two Premier League games following defeats by Crystal Palace and Wolves.

Emery’s men have lost form at a crucial part of the season and will face a Leicester side that should contain Jamie Vardy, who has scored six goals in his last seven league games against Arsenal.

Former Liverpool FC defender Lawrenson is backing Arsenal and Leicester to share the spoils in their Premier League clash on Sunday afternoon.

“This is another away game for Arsenal and the way they are on the road at the moment I would not back them to win a raffle away from the Emirates Stadium,” Lawrenson told BBC Sport.

“It has been the same story for the Gunners all season and I suppose the only positive for them after two defeats in the past week is that they are still in the race for the top four because the teams around them have also slipped up.

“With Manchester United playing Chelsea later on Sunday, at least one of them will drop more points, but I am not convinced Arsenal can capitalise.

“I was surprised Leicester lost to Newcastle in their last home game, but the Foxes showed they have not gone off the boil with the way they fought back late on against West Ham last time out.”

Emery faced Brendan Rodgers twice in last season’s Champions League group stage, with Paris St-Germain beating Celtic 7-1 at home and 5-0 away.

Arsenal will take on Villarreal in their Europa League semi-final next week.
