Lionel Messi names Eden Hazard among the best players in the world
Lionel Messi clearly thinks highly of Chelsea FC playmaker Eden Hazard
Lionel Messi has named Eden Hazard among the top five best players in the world, as the speculation about the Chelsea FC playmaker’s future continues.
The 28-year-old is widely regarded to be one of European football’s top attacking talents and his situation at Stamford Bridge has been a constant source of debate recently.
Hazard’s current contract is set to expire at the end of next season and that could mean that Chelsea FC look to cash-in this summer if the playmaker opts not to sign a new deal.
The playmaker has been in top form for Chelsea FC in recent seasons and he was named as the PFA player of the year in the 2014-15 campaign as he helped the Blues to win the Premier League title under Jose Mourinho.
Messi was recently asked about the top players in the world, and the FC Barcelona star picked Hazard amongst the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Luis Suarez, Sergio Aguero and Neymar.
Speaking in an interview with 947FMRadio, Messi said: “It was nice to have [Cristiano] Ronaldo in La Liga for the prestige he brought.
“Excluding him [Ronaldo] and me, the best players in the world are Mbappe, Hazard, Suarez, Aguero and Neymar.”
Hazard is aiming to help Chelsea FC to secure a top-four finish in the Premier League this season.
The Blues missed out on a trophy in February when they were beaten in the League Cup final by Manchester City on penalties.
