BT Sport pundit reacts to Naby Keita’s goal in Liverpool FC’s 2-0 win over FC Porto
BT Sport pundit Robbie Savage has his say on Naby Keita's goal in Liverpool FC's 2-0 win over FC Porto on Tuesday night
Robbie Savage heaped praise on Naby Keita for helping Liverpool FC to make a great start in their Champions League quarter-final clash on Tuesday night.
Naby Keita scored his first Premier League goal in a 3-1 victory at Southampton last week as the Guinea international made his first start in the top flight since February.
Jurgen Klopp persisted with the summer signing for the visit of FC Porto in the first leg of their Champions League last-eight tie.
And Keita repaid his manager’s faith with a goal in the fifth minute when his deflected strike beat Iker Casillas.
Roberto Firmino doubled the home side’s lead to put Klopp’s side in charge of the Champions League tie.
BT Sport pundit Savage was impressed with Liverpool FC’s brisk start to the Champions League tie.
“What a great start for Liverpool,” Savage told BT Sport.
“Milner played a great ball to Mane. Torres dives in to make the challenge. It’s unfortunate for Torres. It’s on target. Great for the Reds!”
The Reds will make the return trip to FC Porto for the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final on Wednesday 17 April.
Liverpool FC were 5-0 winners at FC Porto in the Champions League round of 16 last season.
The Reds went on to lose 3-1 to Real Madrid in the Champions League final in Kiev.
Liverpool FC will take on Chelsea FC in their next Premier League fixture at Anfield on Sunday evening.
