Alisson sends title message to Liverpool FC supporters
Liverpool FC goalkeeper Alisson Becker says the Reds are feeling relaxed about the title race
Alisson Becker insists Liverpool FC don’t feel any pressure in the Premier League title race.
The Reds are looking to win their first Premier League crown this season as Jurgen Klopp attempts to end his silverware drought at the Anfield side.
Liverpool FC are managing to go toe-to-toe with defending champions Manchester City in what has been one of the most exciting title races in the division’s history.
The Merseyside outfit have only lost one Premier League game so far this season after a 2-1 defeat by Pep Guardiola’s side at The Etihad back in January.
Liverpool FC have managed to challenge on two different fronts after Klopp’s side were 6-1 aggregate winners against FC Porto in the Champions League quarter-finals.
With the title race reaching its conclusion and a Champions League semi-final tie against FC Barcelona on the horizon, Liverpool FC could be forgiven for feeling some pressure.
However, Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson is adamant that Klopp’s squad are feeling relaxed despite the 2018-19 season reaching its conclusion.
“It isn’t pressure,” Alisson told Sky Sports.
“It’s a feeling of knowing that you have the possibility of winning, a feeling of responsibility.
“We play at a gigantic club in Liverpool, with passionate supporters who care deeply about the Premier League first and foremost, and the Champions League.
“So we feel the responsibility yes, but we take it on and try to play as well as we can out on the field.”
Liverpool FC are looking to win the Premier League title for the first time this season, having fallen just short in 2002, 2009 and 2014.
The Reds lost 3-1 to La Liga giants Real Madrid in the Champions League final in Kiev last term.
Liverpool FC will face either Ajax or Tottenham in this season’s final should the Reds beat FC Barcelona.
