Jurgen Klopp reacts to Mo Salah’s wonder-goal in Liverpool FC’s 2-0 win
Liverpool FC manager Jurgen Klopp raves about Mohamed Salah's goal in Sunday evening's 2-0 victory over Chelsea FC
Jurgen Klopp has admitted that Mo Salah’s wonder-goal blew him away after Liverpool FC were 2-0 winners against Chelsea FC at Anfield on Sunday evening.
Liverpool FC were under pressure at the start of the Premier League clash after Manchester City’s 3-1 victory over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park hoisted Pep Guardiola’s side to the top of the table.
The Merseyside outfit were unable to make the breakthrough in the first half as Chelsea FC managed to frustrate the Liverpool FC side with a resolute display.
However, Liverpool FC made the breakthrough in the 51st minute when Sadio Mane managed to get on the end of Jordan Henderson’s superb cross.
Two minutes later, Salah put the result beyond doubt when the Egypt international fired a long-range shot past Chelsea FC goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.
The Liverpool FC forward’s goal was his second in three games to suggest Salah has turned a corner at a vital stage of the Premier League title race.
Asked for his reaction to Salah’s wonder goal in Liverpool FC’s 2-0 win over Chelsea FC during his post-match news conference, Klopp said:
“It blew me away. I was really happy. I saw it really well; maybe I saw it first the ball would go in. It was a really, really outstanding finish.”
Salah has scored 19 goals and has made seven assists in 34 games in the Premier League this season.
The Reds are sitting in top spot and two points ahead of Manchester City, although they’ve played one game more than the Citizens.
