Liverpool FC are in advanced talks with Nike over a long-term kit deal that could eclipse Manchester United’s £750m agreement with Adidas, according to a report.
ESPN FC is reporting that the Reds are in discussions with Nike about a potential agreement that could mark the biggest-ever kit deal struck by a Premier League club.
The same article states that Nike are ready to make a huge offer to Liverpool FC in order to put the Merseyside outfit in the “same earnings league” as their bitter rivals Man United.
According to the same story, the Reds have also held discussions with Adidas and Puma but Liverpool FC are “deep in discussions” with Nike over a potential partnership.
ESPN FC add that New Balance have a “matching clause” in their current agreement with Liverpool FC that would see them retain the Premier League club as long as they match a rival offer.
Manchester United signed a £750m kit deal with Adidas in 2014, but ESPN FC suggest that Nike are prepared to surpass that figure if the sportswear giant can agree terms with Liverpool FC.
The Reds are on the cusp of Premier League title glory this season, with a two-point lead over Manchester City.
Liverpool FC will take on Chelsea FC at Anfield on Sunday.
