Maurizio Sarri says the Premier League title race between Liverpool FC and Manchester City is too close to predict – but the Chelsea FC manager believes the winning margin will be no more than two points.

Manchester City hoisted themselves a point ahead of Liverpool FC on Sunday afternoon after the Citizens were impressive 3-1 winners against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

Liverpool FC, though, managed to reclaim top spot in the Premier League table after Jurgen Klopp’s side eased to a 2-0 victory over Chelsea FC at Anfield.

Sadio Mane broke the deadlock in the 51st minute with a close-range header after good work from Jordan Henderson before Mo Salah netted a superb wonder-goal.

Liverpool FC have now managed to navigate tough fixtures against Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea FC to leave them with what looks like a relatively straightforward run-in.

Manchester City, on the other hand, have to face Tottenham Hotspur at The Etihad this weekend before the Citizens take on Manchester United at Old Trafford in the derby on Wednesday 24 April.

Asked during his post-match media conference to predict the outcome of the Premier League title race, Sarri said:

“It’s very difficult to say.

“Probably it will depend on a post in or a post out. It’s so close. The difference will be one or two points, no more.”

After Arsenal’s win over Watford, Chelsea FC are now in fifth place and two points ahead of Manchester United, but have played one game more than the Red Devils.

The Blues are level on points with Arsenal having played a game more than the Gunners.
