Liverpool FC handed boost in bid to sign 24-year-old PSG midfielder – report
Liverpool FC have been given a boost in the race to sign PSG midfielder Adrien Rabiot, according to a report in England
Liverpool FC have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Adrien Rabiot after the French midfielder was suspended by Paris Saint-Germain, according to a report.
The Daily Mirror are reporting that Liverpool FC are one of the clubs leading the race to sign the controversial France international in the summer transfer window.
The same article states that other suitors include Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Real Madrid as Rabiot’s current deal winds down at the Parc des Princes ahead of the transfer window.
Rabiot, 24, has barely featured under new PSG manager Thomas Tuchel this season, raising questions about his long-term future in the French capital with his contract set to expire in the summer.
According to the same story, the versatile midfielder appears destined to leave PSG after the Ligue 1 champions suspended Rabiot for liking a video posted by Patrice Evra.
In the clip, the Manchester United legend was celebrating their 3-1 victory over PSG in the second leg of their Champions League round of 16 clash last month.
While Rabiot has undoubted talent, Jurgen Klopp may have reservations about signing a player who has appeared to be something of a disruptive force in the PSG squad in recent seasons.
Liverpool FC may, however, look to strengthen their midfield options this summer due to a perceived lack of creativity in the middle of the park.
