Michael Owen is backing Liverpool FC to beat Huddersfield Town on Friday night to heap pressure on Premier League leaders Manchester City.

The Merseyside outfit will look to reclaim top spot in the Premier League after Manchester City relegated Liverpool FC to second place thanks to their derby win mid-week.

Goals from Bernardo Silva and Leroy Sane sealed a 2-0 win against Manchester United to win their game in hand with three fixtures left in the Premier League season.

Liverpool FC have won their last six Premier League games to keep the pressure on Pep Guardiola’s side in the remaining months of the 2018-19 campaign.

The Reds will take on a Huddersfield team that have already been relegated to the Championship after a disappointing campaign.

Former Liverpool FC striker Owen is backing the Merseyside outfit to ease to a comfortable victory over Huddersfield Town in the Premier League on Friday night.

“Huddersfield haven’t scored in their last eight meetings against Liverpool in all competitions and it is hard to make a case for the Terriers against title chasing Liverpool who must win after rivals Manchester City regained top spot following their 2-0 success at Old Trafford on Wednesday evening,” Owen told BetVictor.

“The Reds have won their last six league games on the spin and are unbeaten in their last 38 home league games. Huddersfield have lost their five away games against the other “big six” sides by an aggregate total of 2-19. Liverpool to march on and improve their goal difference along the way.”

Liverpool FC are looking to win their first Premier League title, having finished in second place in 2002, 2009 and 2014.

Klopp is still waiting to get his hands on his first piece of silverware as Liverpool FC manager.

The Merseyside outfit will take on La Liga giants FC Barcelona in the Champions League semi-final next week.

Liverpool FC will make the trip to Camp Nou in the first leg.
