Ole Gunnar Solskjaer makes exciting Man United prediction about Marcus Rashford
Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is confident Marcus Rashford will have a bright future at Old Trafford
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford has a promising future at Old Trafford.
The England international broke the deadlock in the first half with his 28th-minute strike to score the first goal of Solskjaer’s reign as permanent manager.
Anthony Martial doubled the home side’s lead before Watford midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure netted a consolation goal in added time at the end of Manchester United’s 2-1 win.
Rashford has netted three times in his last four games in all competitions to hit top form at a crucial time of the season for Solskjaer’s side both domestically and in Europe.
The English centre-forward has rekindled his best form since the Norwegian head coach replaced Jose Mourinho in the Manchester United managerial role back in December.
Rashford has netted 15 times in all competitions this season to help Manchester United challenge for the top four and reach the Champions League last eight.
The Manchester-born forward’s current contract is set to expire at the end of the 2019-20 Premier League season, with the club in negotiations to secure Rashford’s future.
Solskjaer is confident that the striker has a promising future at the 20-time English champions.
“He’s confident,” Solskjaer told his post-match media conference on Saturday.
“He’s practised more and more finishing. Not only his shots, he’s doing more and more, wants to do more and more, and he’ll turn into a very good goalscorer. Don’t worry about that.”
Manchester United will take on Wolves in their next Premier League fixture on Tuesday night.
