Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will make Paul Pogba the next Manchester United captain, according to a report in England
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will make Paul Pogba his next Manchester United captain when Antonio Valencia leaves the club this summer, according to a report in England.
The Daily Mirror is reporting that Solskjaer is ready to make the France international the next club captain despite having previously used Chris Smalling and David De Gea as skippers.
The same article states that the Manchester United manager is hoping the honour will bring to an end talk of a potential summer move to La Liga giants Real Madrid.
According to the same story, the Red Devils have informed the French star that he won’t be moving to Real Madrid at the end of the Premier League season.
The Daily Mirror add that Manchester United hope giving Pogba the captaincy as well as offering the World Cup winner a new deal will be enough to secure his future.
Pogba scored twice from the penalty spot in Manchester United’s 2-1 victory over West Ham United in their Premier League clash on Saturday evening.
The France star has now scored 13 goals and has made nine assists in the Premier League this season, despite his struggles under Jose Mourinho in the opening half of the campaign.
Manchester United are in sixth place in the Premier League and two points behind Chelsea FC, having played a game less.
