Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has refused to be drawn on speculation suggesting that Manchester United could be keen to sign Philippe Coutinho from FC Barcelona this summer.

The Red Devils are bound to be linked with a host of players in the coming weeks and months as they aim to try and bolster their squad ahead of next season.

Coutinho’s future has been something of a source of speculation recently due to his lack of playing time at Camp Nou this season.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Manchester United have been linked with a move to bring Coutinho to Old Trafford this summer.

However, Solskjaer has refused to comment on the speculation when asked directly about the possibility of signing Coutinho this summer.

Asked whether Manchester United have any interest in signing Coutinho at his news conference on Monday, Solskjaer is quoted as saying by the Manchester Evening News: “He’s a Barcelona player. He’s a Barcelona player.”

Manchester United will return to Premier League action on Sunday when they travel to Everton in the top flight.

The Red Devils are aiming to try and break back into the top four before the season is out to secure qualification for next season’s Champions League.
