Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera has signed a pre-contract agreement with Paris Saint-Germain, according to a report
Ander Herrera has signed a pre-contract agreement with Paris Saint-Germain, according to a report.
The Daily Record is reporting that the Spain international has reached an agreement with the Ligue 1 side after being unimpressed with Manchester United’s latest contract offer.
The same article states that Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wanted to secure Herrera’s future at Old Trafford given his role in the Red Devils team under the Norwegian coach.
According to the same story, executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward could receive some heat after the Manchester United chief failed to secure Herrera on a long-term deal last summer.
Instead, Woodward opted to activate a one-year extension in Herrera’s contract rather than resolve the Spanish star’s future beyond 2019.
Herrera has scored two goals and has made three assists in 20 games in the Premier League in the current campaign.
The Manchester United midfielder has been an important squad player under Louis van Gaal, Jose Mourinho and Solskjaer during his six seasons at Old Trafford.
The 29-year-old has netted 20 times in 187 games in all competitions since his move to Manchester United in a £28m deal from Athletic Bilbao in 2014.
Herrera has won the Europa League, FA Cup and League Cup following his move to Manchester United.
The Red Devils were 3-1 winners against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League last month – and they will take on FC Barcelona in the quarter-finals next week.
