Declan Rice responds after Man United transfer speculation
West Ham midfielder Declan Rice played down recent speculation linking the England starlet with a move to Man City or Man United
Declan Rice has reiterated his commitment to West Ham despite recent speculation linking the midfielder with a move to Manchester City or Manchester United.
The 20-year-old has impressed with his composed performances in the middle of the part for West Ham in the Premier League this season.
Rice has scored two goals in 29 games in the Premier League this season, including the winner in a 1-0 victory over Arsenal at London Stadium in January.
The West Ham prospect made the controversial decision to turn his back on Republic of Ireland and represent England last month.
Rice made his England debut as a substitute in a 5-0 victory over Czech Republic last week before he made his full debut in a 5-1 win against Montenegro.
The London-born midfielder has been linked with a potential move to Manchester City or Manchester United in the upcoming summer transfer window.
The Daily Mirror claim that Rice has been lined up as a replacement for Fernandinho at The Etihad and Ander Herrera at Old Trafford.
However, Rice is adamant that he is content at West Ham and isn’t thinking about a summer move.
“I’m happy [at West Ham],” Rice told BT Sport.
“I’m playing week in, week out. I have a special connection with the fans. It’s unbelievable [the London Stadium].
“I love every minute of being at West Ham.
“Being compared to players, being linked to other teams, I don’t really take any of it in, to be honest.
“If you think about it too much you get caught up in it. I’m only 20, you’ve got your whole career ahead of you.
“I’m just focused on playing for West Ham and playing with a smile on my face and enjoying it.”
Rice will be hoping to produce a top performance when West Ham welcome their fierce London rivals Chelsea FC to London Stadium in the Premier League next Monday night.
