Tottenham Hotspur are set to rival Manchester United for the signing of Juventus winger Douglas Costa this summer, according to a report in Italy.

Italian media outlet Tuttosport, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that Tottenham are interested in a potential swoop to sign the Brazilian at the end of the season.

The same article states that bitter rivals Manchester City and Manchester United are keeping tabs on the 28-year-old’s situation at the Turin club.

According to the same story, Juventus would be willing to consider selling Costa if they’re able to make a profit on the versatile Brazilian midfielder.

The Serie A champions signed Costa in a £34.1m deal from Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich last summer.

Costa has scored one goal in seven starts and 10 substitute appearances in the Serie A in his debut season in the Italian top flight.

The former Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder won two Bundesliga titles with Bayern before Juventus signed the Brazil international to bolster Massimiliano Allegri’s squad.

Tottenham suffered a 2-1 loss to Liverpool FC at Anfield in the Premier League last weekend following Toby Alderweireld’s late own goal.

Manchester United, meanwhile, will return to Champions League action next Wednesday night when they host FC Barcelona in the first leg of their quarter-final clash.
