Man United star to be ‘priced out’ of move to FC Barcelona – report
FC Barcelona are set to cool their interest in signing Marcus Rashford from Man United, according to reports
Marcus Rashford is set to be priced out of a move to FC Barcelona this summer because they feel it would cost too much to lure him away from Old Trafford, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Express is reporting that FC Barcelona are set to cool their interest in signing Rashford because they do not want to cough up a huge transfer fee.
According to the same story. the 21-year-old is “stalling” on signing a new contract at Old Trafford – and he is believed to want wages of more than £200,000 a week.
Rashford’s currently deal expires in the summer of 2020 but the Red Devils do have the option to extend it by a further year.
According to the same article, Rashford’s wage demands are too high for FC Barcelona, as they would place him as the joint-fourth highest earner at the Catalan club.
It is also claimed in the same story that Manchester United would not let Rashford leave on the cheap, and they would expect a transfer fee of around £150m to let him go.
The same story says that FC Barcelona chiefs feel that they could get better value elsewhere.
Meanwhile, Rashford will be expecting to feature when Manchester United host Manchester City in the Premier League clash at Old Trafford on Wednesday night.
