Man United have been scouting 27-year-old all season – report
Man United are pondering a move to sign Paris Saint-Germain right-back Thomas Meunier, say reports
Manchester United have been scouting Paris Saint-Germain right-back Thomas Meunier all season, according to reports in the British media.
The Sun is reporting that the Red Devils have been keeping a close eye on the 27-year-old defender as they ponder a move to try and bring him to Old Trafford this summer.
The same story says that Manchester United officials have been submitting scouting reports on the Belgian defender throughout the season and may try and sign him at the end of the campaign.
The article says that Manchester United may be on the lookout for a new right-back this summer, with Ashley Young now 33 and there being doubts about Diogo Dalot’s ability.
Meunier has been a constant fixture in the PSG team this season and has scored three goals and made three assists in 19 Ligue 1 appearances for the French side.
The defender’s contract is due to expire in the summer of 2020 and according to the same report, that could mean he will be available “on the cheap”.
Meanwhile, Manchester United are currently preparing for their crunch showdown against FC Barcelona in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie at Old Trafford on Wednesday night.
