Pat Nevin previews Man United v Chelsea FC
Pat Nevin looks ahead to Chelsea FC's clash with Manchester United on Sunday afternoon at Old Trafford
Pat Nevin has talked up the importance of Chelsea FC claiming a victory over Manchester United in Sunday’s Premier League clash at Old Trafford.
Chelsea FC travel to Manchester United in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon looking to return to winning ways after the disappointment of their 2-2 draw with Burnley on Monday night.
Manchester United are also looking to bounce back from a poor run of form since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was confirmed as the club’s new manager last month.
Chelsea FC are looking to finish in the top four this season after they ended up fifth and won the FA Cup under Antonio Conte last term.
The Blues are also aiming to win the Europa League this season and they will take on Frankfurt in the semi-finals next month.
Looking ahead to Sunday’s trip to Manchester United, former Chelsea FC star Nevin has underlined the importance of the Blues getting a result.
Writing in his column for Chelsea FC’s website, Nevin said: “Once again the battle for top four is in the balance and not tipping in our favour to be honest right at this moment.
“It makes the game against Manchester United crucial.
“At home, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are a different proposition but depending on the result against Manchester City, we could basically knock them out of the equation.
“Then it would be three into two, but sadly as all you mathematicians out here know, that still doesn’t go.”
The upside is that Arsenal have three out of four of their games away from home, so there is still a great chance, but a win for us against United is now a must.
Chelsea FC will travel to Frankfurt for the first leg of their Europa League semi-final clash on Thursday 2 May, before hosting the German side in the return leg at Stamford Bridge on Thursday 9 May.
