Michael Owen gives his prediction for Wolves v Arsenal
Former Liverpool FC striker Michael Owen is anticipating a low-scoring game between Wolves and Arsenal on Wednesday night
Michael Owen has tipped Arsenal to play out a low-scoring game with Wolves on Wednesday night, although the Liverpool FC legend has admitted he’s reluctant to pick a winner.
Arsenal haven’t given their supporters much to be optimistic about in the race to secure a top-four spot after Unai Emery’s side squandered a big chance to take a giant step towards a return to Champions League football last weekend.
The Gunners had the opportunity to hoist themselves above Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea FC but Arsenal slumped to a surprise 3-2 defeat by Crystal Palace at The Emirates.
Arsenal lost 2-0 to Everton at Goodison Park earlier this month to miss an earlier chance to secure a return to the top four.
Emery’s side have a mixed record on the road in the Premier League this season, losing six of their 16 away fixtures.
Wolves have beaten some of the Premier League’s biggest teams at Molineux, including Chelsea FC and Manchester United.
Former Liverpool FC striker Owen is tipping Wolves and Arsenal to play out a tight games at Molineux on Wednesday night.
“Wolves have never beaten Arsenal in the Premier League – D2 L7 – and the visitors need to bounce back after their home reverse to Crystal Palace on Sunday,” Owen told BetVictor.
“Wolves were left frustrated by Brighton at the weekend, but the Gunners will play a more expansive game midweek.
“It is well documented that the hosts have a better record against the top six than the bottom six so far this term and they have kept a clean sheet in three of their last five home games.
“I don’t expect to see many goals, but if there is to be a winner at Molineux I feel the hosts will edge it.”
Arsenal haven’t finished in the top four in the last two Premier League seasons.
The Gunners will take on Valencia in the Europa League semi-finals after beating Napoli over two legs.
