Cesc Fabregas believes the Chelsea FC board need to change their approach and become more transparent.

The Blues won the Europa League final in Baku on Wednesday night thanks to a 4-1 victory over their bitter rivals Arsenal.

Goals from Olivier Giroud, Pedro Rodriguez and Eden Hazard sealed a resounding victory for the Blues in the Uefa showpiece.

Chelsea FC manager Maurizio Sarri has been coming under pressure in recent months following the west London side’s inconsistent form.

However, the Italian coach has ultimately enjoyed a successful debut campaign at the Stamford Bridge outfit.

Chelsea FC finished in third place in the Premier League to secure a return to the Champions League before Sarri’s side got their hands on the Europa League trophy.

Fabregas was managed by Jose Mourinho, Antonio Conte and Sarri during his five and a half seasons at Stamford Bridge.

The AS Monaco star has now hit out at the Chelsea FC board for allowing negative speculation to fester rather than coming out and quashing falsehoods.

“From inside, all these years that I spent at Chelsea, sometimes there’s such a negativity surrounding the club for so many things,” Fabregas told BT Sport.

“[Jose] Mourinho leaves the club, have a fight. [Antonio] Conte leaves the club, they go to court.

“Some of the biggest legends playing for Chelsea in recent times, [Thibaut] Courtois, Diego Costa.

“The club doesn’t come out and tell things the way they are, so they just let the fans think whatever they want to think.

“They don’t have enough information and someone should come out every now and then and talk to the press, say what’s happening.

“If not there’s so many questions marks around the club and the press talk and talk and talk. It just brings negativity. It should be always positivity surrounding everyone at the club.

“For example tonight we’re talking about negative things when they’re in a European final.

“We should be talking about what a good season Chelsea are having. Being in the Champions League and playing two finals. So some things needs to change in this case for sure.”

Chelsea FC will be hoping to improve upon their third-placed finish when the Blues look to overhaul Manchester City and Liverpool FC next term.

Sarri’s side finished his first Premier League campaign with a goalless draw with Leicester City at the King Power Stadium earlier this month.
