The Argentina international has been settling into life at Stamford Bridge after having arrived at the west London club on a loan deal from Juventus in the January transfer window.
Higuain has endured something of a mixed run of form since his arrival at the west London club, scoring five goals in 13 Premier League appearances for Sarri’s men.
The 31-year-old scored in Chelsea FC’s 3-0 win over Watford at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon as the Blues secured their place in the Champions League for next season.
As things stand, Higuain is set to return to his parent club Juventus at the end of the season, but Sarri has now admitted that he would love to see the striker stay on at Stamford Bridge.
Speaking to BBC’s Match of the Day, Sarri said: “I don’t know about Gonzalo Higuain’s future, you have to ask the club.
“If he’s staying then we can do very well in the next season.”
Chelsea FC are now set to switch their focus back towards Europa League affairs and their semi-final home clash against Eintracht Frankfurt at Stamford Bridge on Thursday night.
The Blues earned a 1-1 draw in the first leg with the German side last week as they look to reach the Europa League final.
