Maurizio Sarri is hoping that Chelsea FC can make a good season “wonderful” by beating Arsenal in the Europa League final this month.

The Blues ended up in third place in the Premier League table this term after their goalless draw with Leicester City on the final day of the campaign.

Chelsea FC finished a point ahead of fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur to secure an automatic route into the group stage of next season’s Champions League.

The west London side have struggled to find consistent form this season but managed to step their game up when it mattered most to climb the table and secure a top-four finish.

The Blues will now turn their attentions towards their crunch Europa League showdown with Arsenal in Baku on 29 May as they look to end the campaign by winning a trophy.

Chelsea FC have just over two weeks to prepare for their trip to Azerbaijan as they look to beat their London rivals to the trophy.

And Sarri is hoping that the Blues can sign off for the season in style by claiming victory over the Gunners later this month.

Speaking at his post-match news conference on Sunday, Sarri said: “The season was very difficult for us but at the end we are happy. We were in trouble three months ago but we reacted very well.

“We have finished in third position, we reached the target of the club to get back in the Champions League and we played a final against Manchester City in the League Cup after beating Liverpool and Tottenham, the two Champions League finalists.

“Now we have to play a very important match in the Europa League final. Right now the season is very good but hopefully it can become wonderful.”
