Christian Pulisic sends message to Chelsea FC fans about Eden Hazard
Chelsea FC signing Christian Pulisic opens up about Belgium star Eden Hazard after his move to Stamford Bridge
Christian Pulisic says he wants to emulate Eden Hazard’s success at Chelsea FC.
The United States international spoke to Chelsea TV recently after the Blues reached an agreement to sign him from Borussia Dortmund back in January.
Chelsea FC paid around £58m to sign the promising 20-year-old from the Bundesliga giants despite Pulisic previously being linked with Liverpool FC and Manchester United.
The diminutive playmaker could be tasked with filling some big shoes at Chelsea FC given that Hazard continues to be linked with a summer switch to Real Madrid.
The 28-year-old has little over 12 months left to run on his current deal, with Hazard potentially available on a free transfer next summer.
Inevitably, Pulisic has been touted as a ready-made replacement for Hazard given his young age and raw ability following his move from Borussia Dortmund.
And the Chelsea FC signing has now spoken about Hazard’s legacy at Chelsea FC following his switch.
“Eden is a fantastic player, we all know that and if I can get anywhere close to that I will be happy. He is a great player. I want to come in, be my own player, and do the best that I can do,” Pulisic told Chelsea FC’s website.
Pulisic went on to discuss what attributes he can bring to the Chelsea FC team following his £58m move to the west London outfit.
“I want to use my skills, my pace, my quickness and creativity to help, especially on the attacking end of things,” Pulisic added.
“Scoring goals and providing assists, that is what I am here to do. I want to make an impact and be a team guy who is going to give it everything.”
Chelsea FC finished in third place in the Premier League this season ahead of Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and Manchester United.
The Blues can still win silverware if they beat Arsenal in the Europa League final next Wednesday.
