The Daily Mail is reporting that the Blues are set to pass on the opportunity to retain Higuain’s services following the Argentina international’s disappointing loan spell.
The same article states that the west London side will send Higuain back to Serie A champions Juventus following the Europa League final later this month.
According to the same story, Chelsea FC don’t want to sign the former Real Madrid striker in spite of a looming two-window transfer ban from Fifa.
The Daily Mail report goes on to suggest that the Blues will offer Olivier Giroud a one-year contract extension to remain at Stamford Bridge for another 12 months.
Chelsea FC will also look to sign Croatia international Mateo Kovacic from Real Madrid on a permanent deal in the summer transfer window, according to the same story.
Higuain has scored five goals in 14 appearances in the Premier League since his switch to Chelsea FC on loan for the second half of the 2018-19 season.
Chelsea FC finished in third place in the Premier League table to qualify for the Champions League after a one-season absence.
