The Sun is reporting that Blues director of football Marina Granovskaia is eager to secure Loftus-Cheek’s long-term future at Stamford Bridge beyond the term of his current deal.
The same article states that Loftus-Cheek has informed the west London club that he wants assurances that he’ll be regularly involved in first-team affairs before the midfielder puts pen to paper.
According to the same story, the England international is unhappy that he only started six games in the Premier League this season despite his impressive performances at the World Cup last summer.
The Sun report goes on to report that Chelsea FC’s transfer ban could put Loftus-Cheek in a strong position unless the Blues are able to sign new players during their appeal.
Loftus-Cheek netted six times in six starts and 18 substitute appearances in the Premier League this season to contribute to their top-four finish.
The Blues midfielder will be hoping to earn a spot in Maurizio Sarri’s starting line up for Chelsea FC’s clash against Arsenal in the Europa League final in Baku later this month.
Loftus-Cheek netted four goals and made three assists in 11 Europa League appearances.
