Mark Lawrenson is tipping Manchester United to claim a 2-0 win away at Huddersfield on Sunday afternoon in the Premier League.

The Red Devils head into the game on the back of their disappointing 1-1 draw with Chelsea FC at Old Trafford last weekend as they suffered another blow to their hopes of finishing in the top four.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men are currently in sixth place in the Premier League table and facing a serious uphill struggle to break back into the top four before the season is out.

Manchester United will likely need to win their remaining two games to have any hope of finishing in the top four this season – and even that may not be enough.

However, former Liverpool FC star Lawrenson is expecting to see the Red Devils claim all three points when they travel to Huddersfield Town on Sunday looking to reverse what has been a dreadful run of form in recent weeks.

Writing in his column for BBC Sport, Lawrenson said: “Manchester United should win their last two games against Huddersfield and Cardiff, but I don’t think it will be enough to get them in the top four.

“Having said that, the Terriers had a spell at Anfield last Friday where they were 1-0 down but looked dangerous.

“For once this season, I looked at them and thought they had something about them.

“I think Huddersfield will give United a game, especially because this is their final Premier League home game for the foreseeable future after two years in the top flight.

“From that point of view, it will be big occasion. They will relish playing a big team like United and they will not want to sign off in front of their home fans without showing a bit of a fight.

“Huddersfield beat United here last season too, so that is another reason they will fancy themselves, but I still think Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side will leave with the points.”

Manchester United will likely be linked with a host of players in the coming weeks and months as Solskjaer sets about bolstering his squad ahead of next season in the summer transfer window.
