Manchester United have failed to record a win in their last 10 games in all competitions to cost them in the Champions League, the FA Cup and the Premier League.
The Red Devils appeared on course to secure just their third win since the start of March when Juan Mata broke the deadlock against Chelsea FC last weekend.
However, David De Gea’s mistake allowed Marcos Alonso to secure a 1-1 draw for Chelsea FC at Stamford Bridge and strengthen their position in fourth place.
Manchester United are in sixth place in the Premier League table and three points adrift of Chelsea FC, who occupy the final Champions League qualification spot.
However, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men can secure a vital win when they make the trip to relegated Huddersfield Town for their penultimate Premier League fixture of the season.
Former Arsenal midfielder Merson is backing Manchester United to win by two clear goals at John Smith Stadium on Sunday evening.
“I remember last year – but Manchester United will win this comfortably. Anything less than 4-0 is disappointing,” Merson told Sky Sports.
“You’re playing a team who can’t win for toffee, look out of their depth, and surely United should have the ammunition to rip them to shreds.
“They can’t put it together for a 90 minutes though. They huffed and puffed last weekend, that’s not the Manchester United I remember.”
Manchester United haven’t won the Premier League since 2013 when Sir Alex Ferguson was still in charge of the 20-time English champions.
Solskjaer replaced Jose Mourinho in the Old Trafford hot-seat back in December.
