The Reds are preparing to take on the Lilywhites in Madrid next weekend as they look to try and lift their first major trophy since Klopp’s appointment at Anfield back in October 2015.
Liverpool FC reached the Champions League final last season but ended up losing 3-1 to Real Madrid in the showpiece as they failed to win any silverware.
The Merseyside outfit have earned plenty of praise for their performances this season as they ran Manchester City close in the title race but ended up a point behind the champions in the table.
Klopp has never won the Champions League trophy, but Mourinho says that he will be equally happy for the German or his counterpart Mauricio Pochettino regardless of next weekend’s result.
Speaking in an interview with Sky Sports as quoted by the Daily Express, Mourinho said: “If Jurgen doesn’t win, you know… to lose three Champions League finals… phew… that has to be really, really hard,”
He continued: “I will be very happy for one of my colleagues, I will be very sad for one of them.
“I like them both. I think they both deserve something really big in their careers.
“I will love it if Jurgen or Mauricio [Pochettino] wins it.
Liverpool FC are still aiming to win their first major trophy since Klopp’s appointment as Brendan Rodgers’ successor back in October 2015.
The Reds finished with 97 points in the Premier League this season, which is the highest total for a team not to have won the title.
