The Blues head into the game fresh from having booked their place in the Europa League final thanks to their dramatic penalty shootout win over Eintracht Frankfurt at Stamford Bridge on Thursday night.
Chelsea FC have already secured their place in the Champions League for next season by claiming a top-four finish in the Premier League, and they will be aiming to finish the campaign on a high before switching their attentions towards Sunday’s trip to the King Power Stadium.
However, the west London side have struggled for consistent form in the Premier League in recent weeks, with Maurizio Sarri’s men having drawn two and lost one of their last five games in the top flight.
And former Arsenal star Merson is backing Leicester City to claim a point from a 2-2 draw in their final game of the season against Chelsea FC on Sunday.
Writing in his column for Sky Sports, Merson said: “They’ve got to win this game, you want to be finishing third.
“They’ve got to beat Leicester, it’s quite a big game for Chelsea to finish third, but it’s a hard game and I think Leicester will get something with how they’ve been playing.”
Chelsea FC will then switch their attentions towards preparing for their Europa League final showdown against Arsenal in Baku on 29 May.
The Blues will be seeking revenge after they lost to the Gunners in last season’s FA Cup final.
