Mauricio Pochettino is predicting a great final between Liverpool FC and Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League showpiece next month.

Spurs booked their place in their first-ever Champions League final on Wednesday night after Lucas Moura’s hat-trick fired them to a 3-2 win over Ajax in Amsterdam.

Ajax appeared to be heading to the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium next month after the Dutch side scored two early goals following their 1-0 win at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last week.

However, Lucas Moura scored Tottenham’s first goal in the semi-final tie in the 55th minute before the former Paris Saint-Germain winger bundled the ball over the line after Fernando Llorente fluffed his lines.

Ajax were wobbling with Tottenham requiring one more goal to progress to the final on the away goals rule and Moura completed his hat-trick in the 96th minute with a precise finish.

Tottenham will take on Premier League rivals Liverpool FC after the Reds were 4-0 winners against FC Barcelona in the second leg of their Champions League semi-final on Tuesday.

Speaking to the media after Tottenham reached the Champions League showpiece, Pochettino paid credit to Liverpool FC for their win over FC Barcelona and predicted an enthralling final.

“Allow me to relax a little bit, there is going to be time to talk about Liverpool,” Pochettino told his post-match news conference.

“I want to congratulate Jurgen Klopp and all the players and Liverpool, because I think they were amazing.

“We enjoyed a lot, watching the tie against Barcelona, they are heroes too and of course it is going to be an amazing final between two English teams that for sure we are going to enjoy.”

Liverpool FC are looking to win the European Cup for the sixth time in their history, while Tottenham have never previously won the Champions League title.
