The Reds kept alive their hopes of winning their first Premier League crown under Jurgen Klopp on Saturday night when they claimed a dramatic 3-2 win over Newcastle United at St James’ Park.
Goals from Virgil van Dijk, Mohamed Salah and Divock Origi wrapped up the three points for Klopp’s men and moved Liverpool FC back to the top of the Premier League table.
Liverpool FC are now two points ahead of Manchester City ahead of the Citizens’ home clash against Leicester City at The Etihad on Monday night.
The Reds will take on Wolves at home on the final day of the season next weekend, while Manchester City will travel to Brighton and Hove Albion.
Former Manchester United defender Neville is tipping both teams to win their remaining games, and that would mean that Manchester City are crowned champions for the second season running.
Speaking to Sky Sports after Saturday’s game, Neville said: “Historically I would have said that would have been a killer blow [for Manchester City] tonight [the Liverpool FC win at Newcastle].
“But it’s looking like we’re just going to see two months’ of flawless results and each team are going to win every game until the end.
“I can’t believe it – I still can’t believe what I’m watching.
“I think City will win on Monday and beat Brighton, and I think Liverpool will beat Wolves. At this moment in time there isn’t anything happening to suggest [either team will drop points].
“Liverpool will be hoping something else happens on Monday of course.”
Liverpool FC will first switch their focus back towards Champions League affairs and their home clash against FC Barcelona at Anfield on Tuesday night. The Reds lost the first leg 3-0 last week.
