The Reds were not given much of a chance of reaching the Champions League showpiece in Madrid after they were beaten 3-0 by the Spanish side in the first leg of the semi-final tie last week.
However, two goals apiece from Divock Origi and Georginio Wijnaldum secured an incredible comeback for Klopp’s men as they booked their place in the final in Madrid on 1 June.
The comeback was one of the most memorable European nights in Anfield’s history, and former Manchester United manager Mourinho was quick to praise Klopp for the way his side were able to come back.
Speaking in an interview quoted by the Daily Mirror, Mourinho said: “This is about him [Klopp]. This is a reflection of his personality, don’t give up, his fighting spirit.
“Everything I think today is about Jurgen’s mentality.”
Liverpool FC are still competing for silverware on two fronts this season, with the Reds taking on Wolves in their final Premier League game of the season on Sunday as they aim to catch Manchester City.
The Reds will be hoping to win their game and that Manchester City drop points when they travel to Brighton and Hove Albion in their final match of the campaign.
