The Reds are preparing to take on the Lilywhites in Madrid next weekend as they look to go one step further than they did last season and lift the trophy this time around.
Liverpool FC were beaten 3-1 by Real Madrid in the Champions League final last season and they are still searching for their first trophy since Jurgen Klopp was appointed at Anfield back in 2015.
The Merseyside outfit game from three goals down to claim a stunning 4-3 aggregate victory over Liverpool FC in the Champions League semi-finals.
However, Spurs also mounted an impressive comeback over Ajax in the semi-finals to book their place in their first-ever Champions League final.
And Liverpool FC star Wijnaldum knows that the Reds are in for a tough test when they take on Tottenham in the showpiece next weekend.
Speaking in an interview with Liverpool FC’s website, Wijnaldum said: “You could see it [how tough Tottenham are], if you look back at the two games we played against them, they were really tough – especially the second one.
“We won in the end, but it could have gone differently in that game.
“They are a really tough team; we’ve faced them a lot of times and every time it has been tough – we have never played against them and it was easy – so we know what we will have to do.”
Liverpool FC are still searching for their first trophy under Klopp after the Reds finished in second place in the Premier League table and just a point behind champions Manchester City.
