David De Gea rejects Man United’s ‘best offer’ – report
David De Gea has rejected the chance to sign a new deal at Manchester United, according to a report
David De Gea has rejected Manchester United’s final contract offer to plunge his future at Old Trafford into doubt, according to a report in England.
The Sun is reporting that the Spain international has turned down the chance to put pen to paper on a new long-term deal with the 20-time English champions.
The same article states that the Red Devils goalkeeper has made it clear to the club’s chiefs that he won’t commit to new deal beyond the end of the 2019-20 season.
According to the same story, Manchester United refused to meet De Gea’s demands of £350,000 a week as the Spanish star sought parity with Alexis Sanchez.
The Sun report go on to claim that Ligue 1 side Paris Saint-Germain are prepared to make a big-money offer for De Gea this summer or wait for the Manchester United number one next year.
The report adds that De Gea’s refusal to sign a new deal at Old Trafford is a big blow to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s plans to rebuild Manchester United.
De Gea has been Manchester United’s best player in the post-Sir Alex Ferguson era after the Scot signed the shot-stopper in a £17m deal from Atletico Madrid in 2011.
The club’s number one goalkeeper has won the Premier League, the FA Cup, the League Cup and the Europa League at Old Trafford.
