Ajax youth star Dillon Hoogewerf is expected to sign for Manchester United in the coming days, say reports
Ajax youth star Dillon Hoogewerf is expected to sign for Manchester United in the coming days, according to reports in the British media.
Metro is reporting that the teenager has made the decision to leave the Ajax youth set-up and that he could be one of Manchester United’s first summer signings of the year.
According to the same report, Hoogewerf is regarded as one of the “stand-out” attacking talents at the Dutch club after he scored 10 goals and laid on six assists for the Under-17s this season.
The same story cites unnamed reports from the Netherlands as claiming that Hoogewerf has elected to sign his first professional contract with Manchester United, making him the club’s first summer signing.
Manchester United have history when it comes to nabbing young talent from Ajax, with the Red Devils having signed the likes of Timothy Fosu-Mensah and Millen Baars in the past.
The Red Devils are likely to be linked with a host of players in the coming weeks and months as they look to try and bolster their squad ahead of next season.
Manchester United finished in sixth place in the Premier League table and without a trophy last term.
