Man United have had a £95m bid for Kalidou Koulibaly rejected by Napoli, according to reports
Manchester United have had a staggering £95m bid for Kalidou Koulibaly rejected by Napoli, according to reports in Italy.
A journalist from Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport, as quoted by The Sun, is reporting that the Red Devils have had a bid-money approach for the 27-year-old defender turned down.
The same story says that Manchester United are “desperate” to tighten up their defence ahead of next season as they look to bolster their squad in the summer transfer window.
According to the same article, Napoli do not want to sell Koulibaly this summer and the defender currently has a release clause of £130m in his contract with the Serie A side.
It is not the first time that Koulibaly has been linked with a move to the Premier League, as he has attracted reported interest from some of Europe’s top clubs in the past.
Manchester United are bound to be on the lookout for a number of defensive reinforcements this summer as they look to revamp their squad ahead of next season.
The Red Devils ended up in sixth place in the Premier League table and without a trophy for the second season running after another disappointing campaign for the club.
