Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants an overhaul of his squad by the start of the 2020-21 season, according to a report
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is hoping to get rid of the unwanted Manchester United players in his squad before the start of the 2020-21 season, according to a report in England.
The Manchester Evening News is reporting that the Red Devils boss is planning a complete overhaul of the Manchester United squad over the next 12 months or so.
The same article states that Solskjaer has already informed Manchester United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward of the players that he wants to sell before the 2020-21 season.
According to the same story, the Red Devils manager is ready to sell Matteo Darmian, Marcos Rojo, Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku.
Solskjaer’s planned exodus doesn’t stop there as the Manchester United boss could also offload Chris Smalling, Phil Jones and Nemanja Matic, the report goes on to add.
The Norwegian head coach is thought to be keen to bring through British talent in the Manchester United squad.
However, the report adds that Solskjaer is still thought to be considering the release of youth graduates Timothy Fosu-Mensah, Cameron Borthwick-Jackson, Harry Wilson and Regan Poole.
Manchester United finished in sixth place in the Premier League table this season to miss out on a spot in the Champions League.
The Red Devils have failed to win a trophy in the last two seasons.
