Daniel Sturridge would be a good signing for Arsenal this summer, according to former Crystal Palace forward Clinton Morrison.

The 29-year-old announced this week that he would be leaving Liverpool FC this summer after the Reds’ Champions League triumph last weekend.

Liverpool FC confirmed the news that Sturridge would be leaving and also revealed that Alberto Moreno is set for an exit when his contract expires this summer.

Sturridge struggled to hold down a regular starting spot in the first team at Liverpool FC last season and was limited to just four starts in the Premier League.

He scored three goals and made two assists in all competitions for the Reds last season and it now remains to be seen what the future holds for the former Chelsea FC striker.

Morrison feels that Sturridge still has the ability to shine in the Premier League and has suggested that he could be a good signing for a club like Arsenal.

Speaking in an interview with talkSPORT, Morrison said: “I believe Daniel Sturridge is still good enough to play in the Premier League. He’s got great technical ability.

“Before all of his injuries, for me personally, I think he was the best English striker in the county. I thought he was better than Harry Kane.

“He’s the most naturally-gifted finisher I’ve seen. He’s the most natural finisher in the Liverpool team, but you just can’t get him in that team because of the work-rate of Mane, Firmino and Salah.

“He’s had a lot of injuries, but I think he’d be a great addition for most Premier League teams.

“Maybe not in the top three or four, maybe not for Liverpool or Manchester City, but he could go to a team like Arsenal.

“I would love my old club Crystal Palace to get him and Leicester could be a good shout – he and Brendan Rodgers work well together.

“Rangers could work too, maybe Steven Gerrard could get the best out of him, but I think he will want to stay in the Premier League.

“I don’t think Daniel Sturridge is money orientated, he was earning a lot of money at Liverpool and that could have set him up for the rest of his career.”

Arsenal are working without the lure of Champions League football this summer after they finished in fifth place in the Premier League and lost the Europa League final to Chelsea FC.
