Spanish media outlet Sport is claiming that the former Atletico Madrid winger is set to return to Europe from China this summer and sign for the Gunners.
According to the same story, Arsenal were interested in signing Carrasco in the January transfer window but ended up landing Denis Suarez on loan from FC Barcelona instead.
Now though, it is claimed that the north London side are “confident” of being able to sign Carrasco this summer as they set about bolstering their squad ahead of the new season.
The 25-year-old scored seven goals and made two assists in 10 Chinese Super League appearances for Dalian Yifang this season.
The same article also carries quotes from the player himself, who appears to be keen on a move to the Premier League.
Carrasco is quoted as saying in the same article: “Negotiations are going well. I am aware that I am an important player for the team but I hope they let me leave.
“From a personal and family point of view, I would like to return to Europe.
“The Premier League is more physical, but there are also a lot of spaces to run into.”
Arsenal are looking to significantly strengthen their squad this summer after they ended up in sixth place in the Premier League and without a trophy last season.
The Gunners lost 4-1 to Chelsea FC in the Europa League final last month.
