Neil Lennon says Arsenal will need to offer “a lot more” money if the Gunners want to sign Celtic defender Kieran Tierney this summer.

The Scotland international has been heavily linked with a move to the north London side over the past couple of weeks or so.

Reports in the English media this week have suggested that Arsenal have already failed with £15m and £18 offers for the 22-year-old.

The Telegraph are reporting that the Scottish Premier League champions are looking to secure a transfer fee in the region of £25m for the defender.

Now, Celtic manager Lennon has warned Arsenal that they’re still a long way short of the Scottish giants’ valuation of the promising full-back.

“Arsenal are aware of what we value the player at,” Lennon is quoted as saying by the Telegraph. “He is on a long-term contract, he is an asset and we don’t want to sell him.

“It is going to take a lot more than what they have offered the first time around to give us a decision to make.

“I have had a chat with him as it can be a difficult decision and a bit unsettling. I have been there myself so it is important we support him regardless of the outcome.”

Arsenal are thought to be hopeful that Tierney can replicate Andy Robertson’s success in the Premier League following the left-back’s move to Liverpool FC from Hull City.

The Scotland international scored one goal in 40 games in all competitions last season as Celtic retained their SPL crown ahead of bitter rivals Rangers.

Tierney has already racked up 170 games in all competitions for Celtic over the past four seasons since breaking into the team under Lennon’s predecessor Brendan Rodgers.

The Arsenal target has won the SPL title four times, the Scottish Cup twice and the Scottish League Cup twice.
