The Times, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that the Gunners have increased their offer for Tierney after Arsenal’s initial bid of £15m was rejected by the Scottish Premier League champions.
The same article states that Celtic are expected to turn down Arsenal’s improved bid for the left-back despite the Premier League side offering a fee that would be Celtic’s record sale.
According to the same story, Unai Emery has a mere £45m to spend on new signings this summer hence why Arsenal have made a conservative offer for the highly-rated Scotsman.
The report goes on to say that their Premier League rivals Everton and Serie A giants Napoli are both interested in a potential swoop to sign Tierney this summer.
Arsenal haven’t made any signings in the summer transfer window so far despite Emery looking to revamp his Gunners squad ahead of the new Premier League season.
The Gunners slumped to a 4-1 loss to bitter rivals Chelsea FC in the Europa League final last month to end Emery’s first season in charge without any silverware.
Arsenal finished in fifth place in the Premier League table last season to miss out on a spot in the Champions League.
