Eden Hazard will be handed the No7 shirt when the Chelsea FC star completes his move to Real Madrid, according to a report in England.
The Sun is reporting that the Belgium international will wear No7 despite occupying the number 10 shirt at Chelsea FC.
The same article states Real Madrid are unwilling to strip Ballon d’Or winner Luka Modric of current number despite Hazard’s arrival.
According to the same story, Hazard will instead inherit Cristiano Ronaldo’s shirt number after the Portugal international moved to Serie A giants Juventus last summer.
The Sun goes on to add that both Hazard and Real Madrid president Florentino Perez are eager to get the deal concluded as quickly as possible.
The report states that Real Madrid will pay £115m to sign the Belgium international in the summer transfer window.
Hazard has won two Premier League titles during his seven-season stint at Stamford Bridge following a move from Lille in 2012.
The Belgian star got his hands on the Europa League trophy for the second time in his career on Wednesday night.
Hazard scored two goals in Chelsea FC’s 4-1 victory over Arsenal in the Europa League final last week.
Chelsea FC won the Europa League as well as finishing in third place in Maurizio Sarri’s first season in charge of the west London side.
