The Sun is reporting that the west London club are hoping to get the Brazil international to commit his long-term future to the Stamford Bridge outfit by getting him to sign a new deal.
The same story says that Chelsea FC have recently scrapped their policy of handing out one-year contracts to players over 30 after they got David Luiz to pen a new deal.
According to the same report, FC Barcelona were keen on signing Willian in the January transfer window, but the move ended up falling through.
The Blues risked losing him for nothing next summer when his current deal was set to expire, but the Brazilian now looks set to stay, according to the same story.
The 30-year-old was a regular fixture in the Chelsea FC first team last season and scored three goals and made six assists in 32 Premier League appearances for the Blues.
He also came on as a second-half substitute during Chelsea FC’s Europa League final victory over Arsenal in Baku last month.
