Callum Hudson-Odoi can help to fill Eden Hazard’s void if the Chelsea FC talisman completes a move to Real Madrid, according to Shaun Wright-Phillips.

The Belgium international is being tipped to move to the Spanish giants in the summer transfer window following months of speculation surrounding the Chelsea FC number 10.

Hazard’s anticipated departure will leave a big hole in the Chelsea FC team following the Belgium international’s seven seasons at the west London side.

The Blues forward was instrumental in helping Chelsea FC to win two Premier League titles, the Europa League twice as well as the FA Cup and the League Cup.

Hudson-Odoi got his chance to shine in the Chelsea FC team in the 2018-19 season despite manager Maurizio Sarri showing an initial reluctance to use the teenager.

The 18-year-old – who is currently recovering from an Achilles injury – finished his first season in the Chelsea FC squad with a respectable return of five goals and three assists in 25 games in all competitions.

Former Chelsea FC winger Wright-Phillips believes English talent Hudson-Odoi is capable of replacing Hazard at the west London club.

“I think Callum can go to the very top,” said Wright-Phillips, speaking exclusively to 888sport.

“We’ve all seen the glimpses of what he’s capable of and if he plays regularly and he finds a consistency and it keeps happening for him, then he can only grow and mature.

“He can then become the player we expect him to be and he’ll be key for Chelsea and England once he’s back fit.

“Callum Hudson-Odoi could be the missing piece that Chelsea need, and the same goes for [Ruben] Loftus-Cheek.

“They will both be very important players for Chelsea next year.”

Chelsea FC finished in third place in the Premier League table last term to secure a return to the Champions League after a one-season absence.

The Blues were 4-1 winners against Arsenal in the Europa League final in Baku last month.
